Sweet Nova

Our house is filled with females... and hair bows!

Tyler and I had been dating for a while when a friend of mine asked me to take this sweet dog that she found on the side of the road with me over the weekend "to test her out". She was maybe 4 months old and was left by the side of the highway in a cardboard box. Tyler knew I was going to have her for the weekend. At first he kept reminding me how this dog was ALL my responsibility and he wasn't sure this was a good idea.

On Friday, I picked up the pup and took her to Tyler's fraternity house where we waited for him to get back from class. Tyler walked in the door and fell in love. We both had - she was perfect (and still is... most of the time). Any time I would say "my dog" he would gently remind me that she was "ours". We spent hours picking out the perfect name for our perfect dog - Nova.

She lived with me at my parents' while I did my semester of student teaching and Tyler studied in Budapest, Hungry. She helped us move into our first apartment right after we were married. She helped make our first house a home and welcomed both our daughters with wet kisses on their toes after bringing them home from the hospital.

She is a good good dog. Her spirit is sweet and she lives to make humans happy. She allows Aliyah to play dress-up with her in exchange for a good rub on the back.

I guess our home is destined to be filled with girls... and Tyler.
