Last weekend our family of four was able to slip away for a mini vacation. It was a wonderful way to let go of our daily routines and focus on each other. We drove to Omaha, NE and had a pretty amazing adventure!

We had a blast at the zoo! The lions had babies in December and they were SO cute. I couldn't resist the opportunity to snag a picture of a mama hard at work feeding her babes - presh!

Even though Aliyah likes to do things herself, it's fun to do things with dad too! We bundled up and went to our favorite slide before getting in the car and heading back to KC.

We found an awesome place that makes their own homemade ice cream! We tried the cinnamon, chocolate and orange spice chocolate - all very yummy!
We even made it home with enough time to go on a quick bike ride through the neighborhood before the rain. And we were so thankful (and surprised) that we didn't have to worry about cooking dinner thanks to my parents' pizza delivery service (and Papa Murphy's). THANKS MOM & DAD!!!
We had such a nice vacation and are so grateful that we are able to take road trips like this from time-to-time. I have such warm memories of little vacations like this with my family growing up and I can't wait travel more in the future.
