Strawberry Fields Forever (part 2)

I wanted to share the doll that I made Aliyah for her birthday (with a little help from my mom). Tyler and I were both so exited to give this to her! It may not always be her very favorite doll, but I am so pleased that she has something special handmade from me.
I loved the yarn that I picked out for her hair but I may have gotten a little carried away - it is THICK!! Aliyah keeps saying, "Hers hair is crazy!" We re-styled it into two pigtails and Aliyah seems happier with her crazy hair - HA!
I also wanted to share the center pieces that I made for Aliyah's strawberry themed party!
Pretty simple: using my parents recycling collection of tin cans, I planted a strawberry starter plant and added one of my mom's cute pennants she made. I think they looked great sitting all around the house, but what I loved the most is that it prompted us to create a strawberry garden in our backyard for the girls... another pinterest idea WOOT!!
After planting the strawberries, a few were ready to be picked and eaten right away! Since the first time we planted them after her party, we have been out two other times finding ripe strawberries to eat - YUM!
