Evie's Dedication

The third weekend in October is a special one for our family! It's the weekend when Baldwin City hosts their annual Maple Leaf Festival. We love it so much we go on Saturday and Sunday!
I was excited to take both my girls all over town, introduce them to old college friends and especially to show them the Tri Delta house. This weekend was also Tyler's 10 year high school reunion! However, my very favorite part of Maple Leaf is being with family. Tyler's parents always open their home to old friends and hungry tummies. YaYa and Bopper work together to make the most delicious gumbo and dessert spread and we always have a wonderful time!
Thanks Aunt Terri for taking this picture!!
Two years ago at Maple Leaf, Ira DeSpain, Baker University's campus minister (the same man who officiated our wedding), held a service for Aliyah's dedication in the small chapel on campus. We knew that we wanted the same special service for Everly.
It was beautiful. Tyler and I are always so touched by family and friends who surround us (and our girls) with their support and love. We couldn't stop talking about how many special people came to celebrate with us at Everly's dedication.
Tyler and I were both older when we decided on our own that we wanted to be baptized. We chose to do dedications for our girls because we want them to be able to have the choice for themselves too.
Surrounded by our friends and family we gave thanks for our precious baby and promised to teach her about God's love for us all.
A shout-out to my brother for taking pictures for us!
